SomerCor 504

I’m excited to share with you a great opportunity. SomerCor 504, Inc. has joined in the fight against cancer by partnering with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light The Night Walk. Our participation will help LLS’s mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

We will be participating in the North Shore Light The Night Walk event on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Gallery Park in Glenview.  Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m., and the actual two-mile walk starts at 7:00 p.m.  Everyone is invited to attend this fun, family event. Participating in the Walk is a great way to create camaraderie within our organization and will have a positive impact on our image in the communities we serve.

Our goal is to have 50 walkers on our walk team—this includes employees, their families and friends—and to raise $10,000. We encourage each walker to raise at least $200, the national average. To receive an illuminated balloon and t-shirt on walk night, each walker must have raised a minimum of $100.

A new patient is diagnosed every 4 minutes and a blood cancer patient dies every 10 minutes – making 144 deaths every day. LLS is dedicated to finding CURES for blood cancers! Our goal this year is to raise $2 million in Illinois, and we need YOUR HELP! Funds are raised by sending out emails and letters, asking for donations, submitting matching-gift forms and holding fundraising events.  I invite everyone to come and join the SomerCor 504, Inc. team as we join in the effort to cure cancer and help patients. By joining the company team, you’ll enjoy an extraordinary experience, celebrating and commemorating lives touched by cancer.

You may register and contribute to our team by visiting our team’s webpage http://pages.lightthenight.org/il/NShore09/SomerCor504Inc. Click “Join” at the bottom of the page to register.  If you have any questions, please contact David Frank at 312-360-3312.

LLS is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. Since it’s inception in 1949, LLS has funded more than $600 million in blood cancer research.

Together, LLS and SomerCor 504, Inc. can help raise awareness about cancer and make a significant impact on the road to a cure. Thank you for your commitment and generosity.

All my best,

David Frank
